Asnaf Industrial was established in 1986 as one of the first private enterprises in Azerbaijan. At the time the firm’s core business was to supply AftoVAZ’ Tagliatti plant (one of former USSR’s production giants) with rubber/synthetic parts for the “Jiguli” car brand, a "people's car" brand popular throughout the Soviet Union.

Following the collapse of the USSR Asnaf revised its strategy and began supplying the Azeri market with finished goods such as outdoor and indoor jalousies, shutters, tents, mosquito nets, etc. By maintaining strong relationships with leading (west) European companies Asnaf was able to combine the firms’ cutting edge input materials with its local knowledge of the market and the cost advantages of local production to produce goods of the highest quality at attractive prices.

In 2000 Asnaf and R-Alkon, a Turkish producer of façade systems with 30 years of experience established a joint venture. The resulting entity, Asnaf-Alkon, initially focused on the production and installation of complete façade systems using glass, aluminium and iso-aluminium composite materials. Motivated by the construction boom in Azerbaijan Asnaf-Alkon expanded its business scope in 2003 by leveraging the combined resources, know-how and experience of its two parent companies. It now offers full scale construction- and capital refurbishment services in addition to its façade production and installation business.

Today Asnaf Alkon Group is the dominant player in the Azeri construction market. The firm, for example, is responsible for just under half of all façade renovation works in Azerbaijan and yearly successfully installs over 85,000m2 of its production. Asnaf Alkon Group employs a staff of 600. Its main production facility, located in Baku, covers three hectares and features Alcopon production facilities, a glass shop, a welding floor, a work area for final assembly as well as a chemical treatment and paint coating department.
